A fantastic photo by Andrew Guthrie, taken by him around 1880. This shows the River Clyde at Blantyre and in particular, the bend in the river with a former boat shed in the middle of the photo.
The boat shed is on the Bothwell bank below the castle (out the picture to the left). The boat shed was in use at this time as part of the Earl of Home’s mansion, Bothwell House.
