Christmas tree was put up at Glasgow Road on Friday there. I’m pleased to say, my fellow Blantyre Community Committee members and I, along with several local Blantyre businesses have paid to upgrade the tree this year, making it nearly double the height of last years! Something we all hope is noticed as you drive by.
Having checked this morning, there are LOADS of unlit lights on it, in readiness for local girls Lauren and Rachel McCool switching them on next Sunday at 4.15pm.We hope everybody in Blantyre comes out for this spectacle which promises to be bigger than ever.
Meantime, away from the main event, High Blantyre’s tree and Street lights are already lit as from last night.
We’re set to sparkle this year!
