Fatal Shortcut 1928

1928-robert-shaw-wmFor six years Robert Shaw (42), of 19 Glasgow Road, Springwells, crossed the railway near Hamilton West Station as short out to his work in the Bent Colliery.

However, in January 1928, he was run down by a train and killed. He left behind a widow and five children, three of whom were young at the time incapable of realising the tragedy that had occurred .

Do you know Robert’s family or related to those children? I’d love to know more about Robert’s life before his accident.
