Aggh. I’ve been meaning to post this all week. From 6th November until midnight tonight (11th November), military records are FREE to access on http://www.ancestry.co.uk
Earlier in the week, this gave me access to around 3,000 stories, records and pictures about Blantyre and the war, enough indeed to keep me busy for months. It all proved very interesting and I’ve been like “a kid in a candy shop!”. I’m permanently subscribed to ancestry anyway, but thought the free access days would be interesting to those with just a passing interest. With so much going on with my book launch and plans for the festive event, I’ve forgot to post about this free duration, so here it is! Hopefully still enough time to search for YOUR relatives, if they were part of our armed forces in war time. Happy searching!
