With the exception of the David Livingstone Centre, its been a few decades since a decent series of postcards was produced for Blantyre. In the past postcards were popular, not only in preserving a family photo, but also to show off our town, which has proven in valuable in recent years as a record to look back upon.
In this digital age, photos are of course common and ultimately will serve as a record for Blantyre as it is in the present. However, postcards do remain collectible and desirable if tourists visit. I thought I’d pick some of the best photos I’ve taken in recent years and create a series of postcards. Look out for them in Blantyre’s shops from September 2015 where they will be trialled for a year. These quality Cards can be bought inexpensively and are marked on the reverse with the intended charity. They feature various scenes from all over Blantyre. If you’re a retailer and interested in stocking them too, please get in touch.
