I must have missed this particular tree the few times I have visited Craigneith. Pictured here by Chris Ladds in 2009, is a massive Yew tree at Craigneith, on the edges of Blantyre Parish near Calderwood.
There are several Yew Trees here at Craigeith and on the opposite river bank at Calderwood. The Yew signifies transformation and rebirth, perhaps an intentional symbol planted when Craigneith Castle (or folly) was first built. The Castle is no longer here.
