Thanks to Robert Stewart who pointed out to me recently that Apple Maps are actually more recent and updated than Google Earth Maps. I often use aerial photos from Google Earth, so it’s great to find a source with more accurate, recent photos.

Apple maps got some bad press when first launched due to the accuracy of pinpointed businesses, but things have drastically improved and reviews show them to be reliable now. A good example is this comparison of Google Earth and Apple Maps, both the most recent photos on their websites which are currently available. However, Apple Maps trumps, with showing the Little Tearoom at Victoria Street, where Google Earth still shows wasteland.
