It’s with thanks to Alistair Hastings for sending in this photo, which his grandfather took in March 1963. This is of course the entrance to David Livingstone Centre. A boy stands paying for his ticket in the turnstile.
Alistair told me that his grandfather lived in Uddingston and took care to catalog the photos he took of the surrounding area.
How pristine the centre looks in this sharp, colour photo. The red of the pillar box, the green metal gates, the whitewash on the walls. It all looks like it recently had a makeover.
