Pictured here in February 2013 by Robert Stewart are the new flats at Broompark Grove, Blantyre. Located just off Kirkton Park, this construction extended the culdesac at Broompark Avenue with many more homes.
These modern flats were built in 2011 by Rosewood Homes, based in Livingston and fitted out to a high standard. They contain one and two bedroom apartments with an upper two bedroom penthouse apartment.
The building work made use of spare land on the junction of Broompark Avenue and Broompark Road. It borders also on to semi detached homes and the chapel (the old site of Dr Jopes surgery). Incredibly, the flats facing on to Broompark Road are on a greenfield site, having never previously been built upon. It would be difficult these days to find any other piece of land within the town itself that has the same claim.
