1957 Duncans at Anderson Church, Stonefield Rd

1957 this time. Photographed at the front of the Anderson Church, Stonefield Road, is my mum Janet Duncan (the wee girl on the right), and her brothers on left Archie Duncan and John Duncan. The lady in the picture is their mother, my grandmother Mary Duncan (nee Danskin).

The occasion is Nancy Duncan (MacFarlane) wedding to Ronnie MacFarlane. Mum’s two sisters Nancy and Margaret are missing from this photo. John passed away in 1997 and mum in 2009, also far too early at only 62 years old. The Church burned down on 8th June 1978.

I look at this picture of my mother and stop for a second to think about the cycle of life. Was my mother EVER so young as that!?
