1905 Kirkton and Main Street Panorma
Taking TWO 1905 photos of Kirkton, by High Blantyre man David Ritchie, and merging them together, gives FANTASTIC results! Indeed, these two photos were likely taken on the same day, perhaps just one after the other. I’ve been able to photoshop them together, capturing a panorama of everyday life in Main Street, Kirkton in 1905. This is High Blantyre over 100 years ago.
These original photos are in such high resolution, I can zoom in and see detail on the stonework! It is with thanks to Alex Bowie for the two original photos. With this being so close to home, I have to say, this merged photo is perhaps one of my favourite photos EVER of Blantyre.
