Today I have wonderful news of something going to become a very regular feature for Blantyre.
I’m proud to announce that from today, “The Blantyre Project Monthly Newsletter” goes on sale at just 50p, with every single penny being donated to local charity, The Haven! This historical newsletter features more stories and photos about Blantyre’s past and is A4 double sided, in full high resolution colour.
Following on from a successful meeting with The Haven, this important development for The Blantyre Project significantly steps up fundraising for The Haven in what is sure to be a long lasting and productive way to raise money. Just 50p will get you a fantastic, fun read and I hope Blantyre residents decide to collect every edition. (You won’t get a better read anywhere in Lanarkshire for the price of a bag of crisps!) A brand new newsletter needs a recognised outlet for selling, so with kind permission, the following organisations and businesses have kindly agreed to sell the newsletter, with all proceeds going to The Haven. You can buy the newsletters at:
- The Royal Bank of Scotland, Glasgow Road, Blantyre
- The Miners Welfare Pub, Calder Street, Blantyre
- The Blantyre Library, Glasgow Road, Blantyre
- Jinxy’s Bakery, Main Street, High Blantyre
For clarity, neither Blantyre Project (Paul Veverka), nor any of these businesses will profit from this venture. ALL proceeds go to charity. I’d like to publicly say thanks to the managers of these businesses and to my local anonymous contact waivering printing costs. Such selfless generosity makes this venture possible. New editions will follow each calendar month.
The Haven is a registered charity, based in Victoria Street, Blantyre that provides information and support to people affected by life-limiting illness such as : • Cancer • Multiple Sclerosis
If you’re a local business and would also like to assist by stocking free issue copies of the Blantyre Project Monthly, then please get in contact with Paul Veverka at http://www.blantyreproject.com
