A strange Victoria Street bird

four-legged-chicken03A Strange bird , in Blantyre? Surely not, i hear you cry. Well, it may not have been big news, but it certainly was unusual.

IT was born on 18th May 1949 and was reared Mr William Fallis, 25 Victoria Street, Blantyre. In the report, William said “if it’s freak it’s perfect! It appears not to suffer in any way from its abnormality. The chicken is one of brood of eight which arrived on the same day. The two additional legs are situated well to the rear of the chicken’s body and point in opposite directions. The chick gets around on its normal limbs.”
