• I’m trying to trace the family of  John Duncan who was my paternal grandfather.  He lived in Auchentibber and was a miner… where was he born and who were his parents & grandparents?

Grandad John Duncan & Grannie Ellen Duncan had Three children:

Sarah Duncan, William Duncan & Alexander Duncan, my father.
All three children attended the Auchentibber Primary school.

I would like to know more about my grandfathers parents and their parents if at all possible to extend their family tree …

I now realise we are part of a very large family  and would really like to know more of our origins.

I have discovered a great deal about my Grannie Elen Duncan and her parents..,Sarah Chappell Schlotheaur and Aloys Schlotheaur. Great grannie Sarah was from MuirKirk and was married there. She is also buried in MuirKirk churchyard …

As my sister lives in Canada she did meet up with Grannie Elen’s relatives residing there.

Thank you for any help you may be able to give & for the Blantyre project…

regards

Emmalean Duncan
