Hello Paul

Sorry, I may have sent you on a wild goose chase in May 2025.

My ancestor's name was David Brainerd Strang, not middle name Blantyre. His father was a Matthew who was a Reverend.

Are there any details of them in Blantyre, as family documents seem to suggest?

DB Strang married the daughter of Archibald Thomson of Thomson (Glasgow) Ropeworks.

Documents also show them as having Blantyre connections/roots...

Is there anythong to confirm either or both cases?

Regards

Arthur Thomson

Hello, Paul, I have come across this answer, and wonder if you are able to get in touch with Arthur Thomson. My Great Grandfather was David Brainerd Strang, and my grandfather was his eldest son David Bruce. I would like to contact him to see if he knows any further back than Matthew. Thank you Jenny Scruton
