Hello, Do the Kirk Session Records exist for 1918? I am trying to prove that a baby girl (Esther Borland Wyper) born 21st February 1918 to Janet Wyper of 9 Craig Street Blantyre was "adopted/fostered" by David Waterson Borland and wife Esther (nee Workman) of Hallside, Cambuslang.
I have found the child in the 1921 Census, called Esther Borland. Esther Borland, the mother, died 26th February 1923, Main Street, Cambuslang (aged 33) and the next year (1924) David Borland married my great grandmother, Jessie Morrison Young (nee Campbell) who was his neighbour in the Hallside Cottages, Cambuslang.
In 1927 the family, consisting of Dave and Jessie along with 4 children (James, Freddie, Esther & Elizabeth) immigrated to Australia onboard "S.S. Borda" and settled in Sydney. All other documents in Australia refer to Esther as the child of David & Jessie, but I believe this to be incorrect ....
Can you please help me prove my theory ?
Thanking you, Christine (Sunny Sydney Australia)
