I am very impressed with your site - what a wealth of information.  My g-g-g-grandfather Robert Paterson died at Kirkton, Blantyre 31 May 1891.  He was a retired road surfaceman - he and his family lived for a time in 1881 in Calderwood Lodge right on the border with East Kilbride.  I am interested in any info on the family- his mum Mary Shearer Paterson was remarkable in that she died at age 104 in 1875 and lived independently until her death on Stoneymeadow Rd (just outside of Blantyre).  If you have any stories, I would love to read them...
