I very much enjoy reading your posts about Blantyre and the families with connections to the area.  If you have time, I would be interested in any information about my great-great grandfather's, Robert Newton (1855-1907), family who lived in Blantyre for a time.  Actually my great grandmother, Isabella Newton, was born in the Mc Alpine Building in 1886.  I am interested in what their life was like living in Blantyre during this time period.  My grandfather's occupation was "grocer", but I have no information regarding what store he worked in.  And I am not sure where the family lived in Blantyre.  They eventually left Blantyre and were in Oban by 1888 where Robert Newton ran a store.  I would appreciate any information you could share.  Thank you very much!
