Both my father and mothers family lived in Blantyre ,

my father is Archibald Gordon and his father James Gordon was brought up on auchinraith road area ,I remember him telling me his family owned a shop on auchinraith road , that would have been around the 40s and 50s,my grandfather worked in the pits , I also remember my grandfather James Gordon relations owned a chip shop on Glasgow road it was called Allan’s chip shop ,he married my grandmother Elizabeth mcillop they were brought up on school lane and her father Alexander mcillop was also a miner , I know they moved about for mining work and then moved to kenilworth cres Burnbank,what I know my grandfather was James Gordon ,my grandmother Elizabeth mcillop , my grandmothers father was Alexander mcillop ,

my mother was raised in 21 priory street Blantyre , Mary Goodwin ,and her sister Betty Goodwin ,there parents duncan Goodwin and Georgina Anderson best Goodwin ,duncan Goodwin also worked down the pits,Georgina best Anderson Goodwin was born in portadown Northern Ireland and moved to priory street when they married ,
