Hello Paul,

My Grandmother, Isabella McDougall McAdam Mackie (DOB: 16th August 1899), at "Front Row, Blantyre Works, married Richard Mackie (DOB: 1st July, 1899) of 74 Dean Park New Battle, on 19th September, 1919 at the Stonefield church  when Richard was still in the Cameron Highlanders based at the Military camp in Invergarden.

We never knew either of them as Richard left and went to America, returning later. We were told then, my father only months old, was left virtually on a door step and his mother, Isabella left and went to Canada in early 1927.  She then married a Mr.William Avery and we are not sure there was ever a divorce? We are pretty sure there is an Irish connection through Isabella and would love to know more about both of them.
