My great-great grandmother Ellen Isabella Welsh immigrated to Canada in I believe 1915. With the family story that she had been orphaned back in Scotland when she was around 3 years old. She was born Dec 25,1892.The story told is that her father Henry Welsh died in 1895 from being ran over by a train, and her mother (Elizabeth welsh - maiden name Docherty) died months later from a broken heart. Looking for any information to add to this story and what became of the family during this time. As well as information to grow the family tree. Henry’s birth record was recorded in Blantyre I believe. Henry and Elizabeth were married in 1888. I was always told that Ellen was an only child, but I’m curious considering Henry and Elizabeth were married from 1888 to 1895 that there could possibly be more children.
