Hi, I’m trying to search for information about my grandfather James mcguire, he worked as a coal
Miners think at Dixons but not 100% sure.
He lived at bairds row and moved into 68 Glasgow road in 1942 and moved out in 1948 and came to derby for work. Thank you
he was born in 1918 to James mcguire 1863-1918 and Bridget gowran 1886-926. He married rose ann docherty 29 oct 1921- 29 oct 1995.I never met my grandad as he died before I was born.

I have my grandparents marriage 14th august 1942 cambuslang but no photos of them in their younger days.

rose ann docherty was born to Bridget McGovern at 60 Glasgow road cambuslang. Bridget was forced out of Scotland when my gran was 18 months old and emigrated to Canada also being forced to leave my gran behind, Bridget’s parents George McGovern (although I can’t find any birth certificates for George) and rose ann slevin, them came from Ireland and both died at 60 Glasgow road cambuslang.
