Seeking more detailed information about my Great Grandad Robert Orr who bought Newmains Cottage about 1895. Married to Mary Brown Ritchie who I believe died there. My Grandparents Thomas and Janet Orr ( nee Watt) also lived there until the house was sold - like to know how he could afford to buy the house given he was a coal miner (Fireman) and previously lived at Merrys Row.
