Hi.  My great grandmother was called Elizabeth Hamill and she was working as a farm servant in Blantyre when she gave birth to my Grandmother also called Elizabeth Hamill in April 1913( no fathers name on birth cert).  The family story goes that she kept the child for 2/3 years before giving her up to another couple who did not officially adopt her. I have no other firm details as cannot trace her at all.  I thought I had her as the child of Alexander and Annie (nee Rodger) but their Daughter died after 11 months.  I would love to know if there is anyone that might know what happened and if anyone knows what farm she might have worked on as if they are still going they may have staff records.  Thank you so much for your time in reading this and for any possible help (My father and I have been trying for years to solve this mystery and he is now starting to get dementia o Id love to solve the riddle before his memory gets too bad).
