My Grandads parents died when he was 1, his mother Margaret Lindsay died at Front row blantyre works in 1896, pnumonia, his father Matthew in 1902/03 he died in Barnhill glasgow poorhouse,I think his father Matthew was a bigamist as he marries twice in 1885,once to  a woman called Charlotte Watson in the Calton,then to Margaret Burn who he marries in Limerick when he was stations there in the Army,he was adopted by Anne and Patrick Carty who stayed at Melbourne place on the 1901 census he is there going by the name James Carty,as i think they has a john carty living there as to not cause confusion they named him james,, his birth name was John Lindsay, born 27/8/1895 at front row blantyre works he had 2 sisters and 2 brothers who were adopted out,George,Margaret,Matthew and Mary, also another John who dies in infancy before my grandad was born,his dad Matthew Lindsay was born in Calton in 1864 and joined the army in 1882, i also think he abandoned his children when his wife died and then he died 6 years later,could you help me with more info on this paul?
