In the past I have looked at your sight many times out of general interest having a Graham family connection with Blantyre and in recent years visiting the area each year to see a relative now sadly deceased. My memories of Blantyre are from the late 40's when I was very young and living in Bothwellhaugh and more recently during my enjoyable annual visits to the area. I have trawled through all the Blantyre cemeteries in the past without being able to determine a relative other than William Graham my grandfathers brother who was killed in WW1. The Grahams are a family I have struggled with in researching my family history particularly in their Ballymoney days before moving to Lanarkshire between 1901 and 1911. Other than my direct line to James John Graham (my grandfather) born Dirraw, Finvoy 1893 I have little information and no relatives to ask about other family members. His parents William John and Letitia (nee Campbell) lived in Main Street and from stories I heard as a child may have even had a "sweet shop/tobacconists" there. I alway look through your site to see if I can find a family connection and I think I may have found one at last. It was great interest that I read two items where Bill Graham made comments which made me think we may be related. In connection with Auchinraith Junction he referred to his Aunt Tean McDade who could be my great aunt - Letitia Graham (referred to as Aunty Tina and born 1908 Hamilton) who married Edward McDade in 1929. They had one child "Ivor". In connection with High Blantyre Station he referred to his grandfather Hugh working there as a boy porter. Was this Hugh born 1904 in Hamilton who married Euphemia Keith Mossman? Hugh was the brother of James John. The only child I am aware of from this marriage is Hugh Mossman Graham. I am hoping that Bill Graham will perhaps be able enlighten me.
