Hello there Paul. Thank you for the wonderful work you do on your site. My name is Miriam McCaffrie, Irish-burn and now resident in Australia. I am now in Killarney where I was born and I am planning  to visit Blantyre in the next week or two.
You have very kindly assisted my first cousin, William Thompson, a few years’ back re the McCaffrie family ancestry and I wonder if I walk some of the streets mentioned in your information to Billy, do you think there would be any remnants of buildings or hotels the McCaffries owned, or lived in, many years ago?? It may be an inane question I well realise. My father, Gerald William McCaffie, was born there on 21.1.18 and left for Ireland when he was four. My father was a sibling of Billy Thomason’s mother, Gertrude McCaffrie. If you are far too busy to respond, I will respect that Paul.
