I have my grandparents marriage certificate, George Crookston, 24 Craig Street married August 24th 1919 to Agnes McMillan Stein or McClelland * widow *, 10 Forrest Street, her parents Adam Stein and Agnes Stein.

George and Agnes were the parents of my father John Crookston, he had a brother Adam who died in infancy, I do not have any record of what happened to him or where he was buried. They also had a daughter Agnes DOB 25/01/1928, it is for her I am trying to connect family ancestry, as she would love to find out as much as possible. Her mother also had at least one child to her first marriage Grace McClelland now deceased, there was another daughter who died as a child, not sure to which marriage. My father also believed they were related to Jock Stein not sure of the truth of this. I really hope you can find out more for me, I now live in Spain, but would love to give my aunt the information she craves.

I do know that in the time she was a young widow my gran turned her front room in Forrest st into a small shop, she was a great baker and made all sorts of sweets and confection, she was also good at buying and selling items of homewares and made a living doing that.
