My great great grandfather’s name was James Boyd. He can to America in the mid 1880’s and likely came through Northern Ireland to the US. However, he always listed his birthplace as “Glasgow, Scotland” on all of documents.
Most of his history prior to immigrating to the US is a mystery to me and I’m trying to determine if it’s possible that he was one of the children of Stevenson and Margaret Boyd.
I know they moved to NZ moved to NZ, but from what I can find, not all of the children moved there.
If you have any insights into their children, and particularly details on the life of James, it would greatly help me determine if he is my ancestor.
