first of all can I just say that your work is absolutely amazing. My father Peter Cairney Innes was born in Auchentibber on 17th March 1931. I was wondering if he or his brother John were in the school register featured on the project. If he started school at 5 it would be arounfd1936. His family were later moved to Victoria Street Blantyre. His parents parents were Jock (John) Innes and Sarah Cairney although I believe they weren't married due to the fact they couldn't afford a wedding license 1/5p at the time or so I was told. I know he lived in a house with a tin roof. I don't think his father ever worked. Would love to find out anything about that time. Also is there a book I can buy about Old Auchentibber been searching on line but no success yet. I really would appreciate any time you could spend looking into this for me. How lovely would it be to try and renovate the old gardens and Quoiting green as this land is just lying desolate. Went a walk up there today as it would have been my dads 90th birthday it was heartwarming. Thank you, take care, Elaine.
