hi,

I'm writing in the hope I can find out what happened to my great grandfather ( James Mcsherry) who was a coal miner. He lived at Netherfield place Blantyre in 1911. He was married to Maggie Mcsherry (Gribbons) he had 2 Daughters, Margaret 1yr and my grandmother Isabella 1month old. His Mother also lived with them Isabella 72yrs. The reason I'm writing to you is in the hope you can give me some information regarding James. Is it possible to find out what pit he worked at ? I was told that he had been hit by a train going to work but I can't find any death certificate. I know my grandmother was in private service to a family in cambuslang as a young woman and her mother remarried. I hope I've explained myself enough but please don't hesitate to ask for any further information if required.

Many thanks,

Dennis
