Hi Paul, for over 20 years I have been trying to trace the maternal parent of Alexander McGregor born 1887 in Blantyre. I know his father was William b1862 and he had a brother James b1886. I have been unable to trace them on the1891 census but in 1901 they appear in Shotton Colliery, Durham. William is identified as being born in Lesmahagow.

In the 1901 William has a wife Mary but I do not believe that this is Alexander and James's mother. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Pauline
