This week, I’ve been using AI to create short burst video from static images. In other words creating video from photos. It’s not just landscapes or places. It can cope with crowds and people too.
Take for example, a photo of inside Caspers, the former nightclub on Glasgow Road, Blantyre. Using AI, I’ve recreated a video of the inside from 1989. The technology is impressive and nearing realism though fast movements like these, can sometimes still be impaired or look out of sync.
We’ve already entered an era where it is difficult to define what is real or not. It needs regulation perhaps through transparency like mentioning in this post its AI, or at the very least some kind of watermarking. This technology is only going to quickly improve. If official regulation doesn’t happen soon, we’ll all need to tread even more carefully about what we’re seeing online!
