With thanks to Gordon Cook for sharing this photo. I’ve zoomed in a little to see what I could spot! Perhaps taken in the 1960s, the tenements on the right at the ‘Dales’ on Main Street with the gardens and outbuildings at the back. To the right is the former public toilets at Cemetery Road at just out the picture at the top is the Parish Council Chambers.
At the bottom left are the former tenements and petrol pumps at the top of Broompark Road, right at the junction of Main Street. Do YOU remember High Blantyre like this?
