Lena Elliott and her brother kindly shared these 2 photos. She told me, “My dad took these in June 1971 of the SSHA house being completed in Glenfruin Road.”
There’s not too many photos on Blantyre Project of the Scottish Special Housing Association estate being built. I was trying to work out which streets these are. Anybody know more?
This shows the junction where Glenfruin Road joins Stonefield Road. The hut to the left was the SSHA store which had been in a locked compound. The painted hut on the right was the SSHA site office. I worked on the site in 1970 and then lived at Kintyre Road from 1971 to 1974.
