I think this next photo is possibly 1977 or so. Taken in High Blantyre and previously unseen online, this is the bottom of Kirkton Avenue before it curves round to join the Main Street.
It looks like drainage works are underway, which could have been the advance works for the construction of the new A725 EK Expressway. Does anybody know what was happening in the foreground and is the date correct?
