Elizabeth Grieve (nee Dobson) wrote to me recently saying, “I thought I would forward a photo to you regarding your wedding section. It’s a very old one and not an official photo of my parents wedding from 6 March 1965. Because my mother was from the mining village of Fallin, Stirlingshire, they were married there but my dad was from Blantyre all his life and they made their life in Blantyre.

William Dobson and Jean Bayne were married on 6th March 1965 at Fallin Parish Church, the brides home town. On the left was Jean’s bridesmaid Ellen Haig and best man Thomas Beetham, both from Blantyre.”
