Betty McLean in Canada has kindly shared these interesting certificates. Seeing the dates as being March and May 1939, how very apt that these very worthwhile accomplishments were gained prior to the start of World War 2, generally thought to be 1st September 1939.

To achieve proficiency in applying first aid and undertaking a course in Air Raid Precautions prior to the outbreak of war, was maybe a sign of the tension and feeling being felt in Europe at the time.

Having these skills, I’m sure would have made any person feel much more prepared when war was announced.
