The Council owned, Priestfield Senior Citizens Hall was built in 1980 and is situated on the Main Street in High Blantyre, next to the old Cooperative tenement buildings. It faces out on to a well used car park and has a direct view across to the Masonic building, the former Apollo Bar.

The hall was originally provided for the senior citizens in the area and is managed by a local senior citizens committee.  The hall comprises a main hall, two meeting rooms, kitchen and toilet.  The main hall is 128sqm and can accommodate up to 100 people in concert style seating or 90 people for catered functions.

The two meeting rooms can accommodate up to 20 people. This hall is not generally used by groups other than Senior Citizens, but can occasionally be booked for suitable activities.

This facility can be used for a variety of community, social and commercial activities including but not restricted to Courses and Classes, Arts and Crafts, Sports Activities, Community Meetings, Birthday Parties, Engagement Parties, Discos, Wedding Receptions, Slimming Clubs, Martial Arts etc. During the day, each weekday, a volunteer cafe is open (which i would highly recommend). The hall is now nicely decorated with various painted Blantyre scenes.
