A couple of photos next sent in by Jim Cochrane. Pictured is Bill Cochrane outside the back of his home at 6 Watson Place, High Blantyre. The single storey homes were known in the 1970s and 1980s in the local area as “The Steel Houses” a name I’m not sure still exists today.

In the garden, just behind the shed, is an Anderson Shelter, which post WW2, were used mostly as sheds, coal or bike storage. Jim told me, “My Great Uncle Bill Cochrane and his Bedford Dormoble in the garage at 6 Watson Place. They bought this in 1960 and had it untill he Died Going lots of holidays traveling in it and going to Australia with it twice.the Bedford still exists belonging now to my Dads Sister and her Husband.”
