Robert Stewart recently sent in this photo to me, adding, “Here is my mum’s school photo taken at Calder Street c1930. My mother was born in 1918, I’d say that the children look about 12. My mother is sitting in the centre of the second front row. Her maiden name was Elizabeth McLachlan.”
What a lovely, clear photo and one which I’d never seen before. The children are well dressed, ties on, nice jackets and I suspect the parents knew very well that morning, it was going to be “photo day”.
Does anyone have a photo of my Grandfathers
Grocery shop from 1930 in Calder Street please?
