Park House in 1930s and 1940s

I recently posted about Park House and its history here

Alex Rochead contacted me recently saying, “My grandfather had been in the army for many years serving in South Africa and India. When he returned to the UK and was demobbed he worked at Hamilton barracks as a Barracks Warden. I have been told that this was a job usually given to ex soldiers. In the 1930s and 40s he lived at Park House. I don’t know when he first moved in.

A photo dated 1934 looks like it is set in the gardens. Standing is my uncle Donald Stewart, sitting Beatrice Miller my grandfather’s second wife, grandfather Alexander Stewart and my mother Minni Anabella Stewart. My mother was living at Park House when she married my father in 1945.”
