1908 Auchentibber Quoiting Green

This brilliant photo shows Auchenitbber Quoiting Green in all its glory during 1908.  There’s no Auchentibber War Monument in the background, for WW1 hadn’t happened yet. Instead, the men, mostly miners play quoits in their self made field, situated near the junction of Parkneuk and Auchentibber Road.

I recently went back to visit this site, something I like doing in Winter, for the current greenery and growth dies back, and its possible to see the level former playing field. This is what it looks like now.
