This lovely painting was commissioned by myself a few years ago, as a possible contender for the front cover of my latest book. It was pipped at the post when I chose Pathfoot cottages instead, but the painting was worth sharing here and very beautiful in its own right.
The scene, also used in the cover image on Facebook is the Auchentibber Inn during 1908. Landlord JBH Struthers was the owner and the Inn had just been fully renovated. The painting was done by my colleague, Mr. Rob Thorpe who has provided paintings for all my book covers in the “Journey In Time” series.
The scene is tranquil and I thought very much worth sharing again with you all, if only to show what we’re missing today.
