Advert: Oor Wullies Bakery

This advert from 2004 is for “Oor Wullies” Bakery at Main Street in High Blantyre. Oor Wullie’s was established in 1979 and had over 25 years experience in supplying top quality baked goods from their shop at 279-281 Main Street, High Blantyre.

Their telephone number was 01698 327872 and specialised in morning rolls, pies, sausage rolls, filled pastries, Bridies, cakes and buns.

The original 1979 shop for Oor Wullies had address 315 Main Street and was where the current hairdressers and Flowers To Go is located. This photo from 2008 taken by Jim Brown shows the original signage, just before the units were split after the solicitors left. This was the original ‘oor wullies’ at the co-op building.
