1908 A Family postcard

This postcard is incredibly over 100 years old! It was sent to our great grandpa from Ayr by mysterious “HR”. Sent to John Duncan with the address simply put as “John Duncan, Greenburn Cottage, High Blantyre”, this was the location some of our family lived at. The card depicts the interior of poet Rabbie Burns cottage which was obviously a tourist attraction back then too.

HR wrote to John that the cottage looked like the house he/she had stayed in at Preston and that the weather was good in Ayr. The postmark says 11th August 1908. The card has been passed down amongst family documents.
