Milestone reached

Yeah! Blantyre Project has reached 15,000 followers on Facebook, many more if instagram and the main website is included. (There’s a lot of people not on Facebook who follow Blantyre Project here at www.blantyreproject.com )

Thank you to everybody for your continued interest.

I’m still very motivated and have loads to explore and show. I don’t think anybody’s attempted to get EVERY significant piece of news out about Blantyre before in the detail provided, whether its historical here from centuries gone by, or contemporary and live as its happening over on Blantyre Telegraph. I’ve now been researching information about Blantyre for three quarters of my life, writing about it without exception EVERY DAY for a quarter of my life. There’s a massive archive growing daily about our buildings, places, streets, schools, infrastructure, parks, businesses and the events affecting the people who helped shaped this town. It won’t be online forever, but it’s slowly being recorded in books.

This has become more than a hobby. A disciplined focus but one I enjoy very much. I’m in my “happy place” researching and writing every evening and weekend. Those who know me, will know I’m not looking for reward, or ‘pats on the back’, just want this effort to be accessible for current and future generations to reference.

I hope you continue to enjoy these articles as much as I do exploring and drafting them. Thanks.
