Award for Ex Celt

It was a night of nostalgia during the last Wednesday in January 1977 at Blantyre’s St Columba Club at Coatshill.

Former Celtic stars (left to right), Steve Chalmers, John Fallon and Billy McNeil were at the club for a ‘mini reunion’ but the talk was not about past glories on the pitch, but John’s present glories on the golf course!

John was Secretary of the Columba Club’s Golf Section and his old team mates came along to hand out prizes at their annual awards ceremony.

John, along with partner Tommy McGuire was presented with a shield for the foursomes tournament recognising their talents.
