John & Frank McGuire were identical twins, the youngest children of John & Cathie McGuire originally of Littles Cottages. The family emigrated to Canada in the early 1950’s & settled in Victoria, Vancouver Island. The family story is a book in itself and John McGuire is still living there.
The twins became fishermen and deep sea divers. After they settled, they were contacted by a show based in the US called ”What’s my line” & they took part. The show host suggested that the audience wouldn’t know Blantyre & suggested they simply say they were from Glasgow.
