I’ll renew it another 10 years then and to that end have already set up multiple reminders by post, email and phone.
For those not aware, the website is the largest Blantyre History Archive collecting all the information here on Facebook and much more! It mirrors the posts here on Facebook every day, is fully searchable with an astonishing 4,200 articles and 10,450 old photos. It also features all the notes and stories collected and researched by myself since the mid 1980s, the interesting poems, stories and history provided by others as well as social media comments from thousands of people, all over the world. It grows daily and is set out in a sensible ‘area by area, year by year’ manner.
It continues to raise money for charity and along with Blantyre Telegraph, my sister website, it has now raised over £18,748 for 96 local Blantyre causes. A massive thanks to everybody buying books, donating and supporting.
As you can imagine, I’m very proud of whats been achieved in the last 7 years on that website. There is literally only a dozen days, through sickness in that whole 7 years when I have not added to it. Blantyre Project will remain free to access, a factual, informative community archive for us all.
